Summary: 19 yr old NYU student Diana Chien jumped to her death from atop
a 24 story bldg. A medical examiner ruled the death a suicide and
police believe the death was unrelated to problems at school. Three
other NYU undergrads have similarly jumped to their deaths since last
September, including two males (one of which was apparently tripping on
hallucinogenic mushrooms) and a female. The New York Post has worsened
the pain in the community due to its decision to print what is
apparently a picture of Diana jumping on the front page. Diana was a
transfer student from UCLA, and her father, Ta-Wei Chien, a Sr. Vice
President and general manager at Tivo Inc.
NYU is just not a good school. It is nothing more than an over priced white elephant filled with snobs from the suburbs. So many, like myself, went to NYU thinking that I will get a better job by going there but in reality it is not what you know but who you know that makes the difference.

I find the CUNY system is better than NYU. After I transferred to Brooklyn College I got mostly As and Bs, compared to the Cs and Ds at NYU. Not only that because of the low cost of Brooklyn College I was able to afford socializing and living on my own. So I learned serious social skills while I went to college. At NYU, I was constantly working to pay for some over inflated tuition, which made no sense.

College is not about the school you go to but the major you do and the grades you get. Did you know more CEOs graduate from the City University of New York (CUNY) than any other university in the country. The CUNY system is the best kept secret of NYC. So check it out!
